What's New for The 2023 Lexus RZ?

The new Lexus RZ is the first electric vehicle from Lexus that doesn't have a combustion engine version first. This is part of the Lexus focus on electric vehicles.

2023 RZ Trims and Features

The RZ 450e is the only trim that's known to be coming out currently. It will likely feature a 150 kW motor in the front and an 80 kW motor in the back. This will work out to 201 hp in the front engine and 107 hp in the other engine. This is more horsepower than other vehicles within this field, including the 214 hp for the similar bZ4X, which will have a similar platform.

The estimation for the range is somewhere around 225 miles on one charge with the battery capacity being around 71.4 kWh. It appears that Lexus believes the wheels will be around 18 inches. The speed for the similar bZ4X is supposedly around 6.5 seconds. The Lexus vehicle is likely to be faster than that. A comparable vehicle is the Tesla Y which has a 0 to 60 of about 4.7 seconds. Either way, it's shaping up to be a speedy car.

2023 Lexus RZ Horsepower

According to the rumors, the horsepower for the RZ will start at 308 hp or so. This will be with a single-speed auto transmission. This could certainly change when more options are introduced, but this is the only information we have at this time.

Lexus RZ Safety

For starters, the Lexus Safety Sense 3.0 is likely going to be the safety suite that the new Lexus uses. This option has all the essential safety features many other brands are using now, including automatic emergency braking. This ensures that your vehicle can stop your car on its own if you are about to hit something. This includes the pedestrian detection option. You also have options like the driver monitoring system, which can take control of the vehicle away from drivers if they appear too distracted or generally unable to operate their vehicle. It will also turn on the emergency lights if this is the case and then safely pull over and stop the vehicle for you.
