What's New For the 2022 Lexus IS?

Lexus is a well-known name in the auto industry for providing luxury vehicles that are stylish and practical. The new 2022 Lexus IS will be no different, as it allows for an exciting change from the previous generation with a design that's sure to impress.

The IS500 F Sport Performance is the newest V-8-powered model, with sporty performance and distinctive looks, 19-inch wheels, quad exhaust, model-specific interior accents, adaptive suspension, limited-slip differential, and upgraded brakes. The bulging hood, rear diffuser, quad exhaust tips, and subtle trunk-lid spoiler are all unique to the IS500.

2022 IS Trims and Features

The 2022 Lexus IS comes in four basic trims: the base IS300, midlevel IS300 AWD, top-of-the-line IS350 F Sport, and the range-topping IS500 F Sport Performance. Standard features include a panoramic moonroof with front power tilt/slide feature that can open or close at speeds up to 26 mph; a 12.0-inch color head-up display (HUD); and a premium 11-speaker Mark Levinson audio system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

For a more subtle appearance, the IS350's matte-black exterior trim helps reduce visual mass. The wheel arches are less exaggerated, and it gets standard 19-inch wheels with staggered tires for improved traction.

2022 Lexus IS Horsepower

The standard IS 300 engine will be a turbocharged 2.0 liter, four-cylinder capable of 241 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. If you opt for all-wheel drive on either model, an eight-speed automatic transmission will be standard across the board. The IS 350 F Sport will up the ante with a turbocharged V-six engine that's good for 311 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque. The IS 500 F Sport Performance will get a turbocharged V-eight engine with 472 horsepower and 395 pound-feet of torque.

Lexus IS Safety

Standard safety features on all models include front and rear parking sensors, a backup camera with dynamic gridlines to help you when backing up in tight spots, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert (standard on F Sport trims), lane change assist, pre-collision system, lane departure warning, and automatic high beams. The 2022 Lexus IS comes standard with front, side, knee, and rear airbags. The IS 300 has an Advanced Safety Package for further protection, including a surrounding vision and auto high beams.
