Categorized as a nonprofit organization, the House of Refuge has been serving the people of Mesa, Arizona, since the 1990s. For instance, the Employee & Education Center (EEC) includes a room with computers and other office-style peripherals. Staffed by paid employees and some volunteers, the EEC also helps the residents with employment and continuing education. Residents could take advantage of various job training programs and other initiatives that focus on health and wellness.
All residents at the House of Refuge have a personal case manager. The ultimate goal of the personalized case management is to lead the residents towards self-sufficiency and stability in life.
