?At Comic-Con International: San Diego, Lexus and Marvel announced that the all-new LC 500 is heading to the silver screen to star alongside Chadwick Boseman in the upcoming flick “Black Panther.” Taking design and performance to new heights, the luxury coupe is the perfect fit for a superhero, especially one as fast and powerful as the Black Panther.
“Marvel continuously captures audiences through charismatic characters and inspiring stories — the ideal fit for Lexus’ mission to craft amazing, engaging experiences,” said Brian Bolain general manager, Lexus marketing. “And the LC’s aggressive styling, high performance and agile handling are a perfect fit for the Black Panther’s quick, cat-like reflexes and superhuman feats. We’re excited to see the duo in action.”
Directed by Ryan Coogler, “Black Panther” tells the story of T’Challa (aka the Black Panther), a young man who has just taken his place as king of Wakanda following his father’s death. However, the transition of power is not so easy, and his crown is challenged by several enemy factions. In order to prevent a violent insurrection and the threat of a world war, T’Challa must once again take on his alter ego.
In addition to starring as the Black Panther’s trusty vehicle, the LC 500 will get its own original graphic novel in which it has a powerful role in helping the superhero take down a “legendary” villain. This exciting project will be written by the famed Fabian Nicieza (“Deadpool Vs. the Marvel Universe,” “X-Men: Age of Apocalypse”), and illustrated by Szymon Kudranski and Scott “Rahzzah” Wilson.
“Black Panther” heads to theaters Feb. 16, 2018, so be sure to mark your calendars now!
